Case study, independent product

Methodwise: an AI product for parents, built from scratch

A live platform that helps parents support learning the way teachers teach it. I designed and shipped it end-to-end on my own, using Claude Code and a modern product stack.

The challenge

Homework help usually turns into open tabs, endless scrolling, and explanations that are not aligned to the way concepts are taught in class. Even when the information is accurate, the lack of structure creates confusion and frustration for parents and kids alike.

Methodwise offers a calmer starting point, one that supports understanding rather than just handing over answers.

What I built

  • Designed the end-to-end product flow: a parent enters a subject and grade level, gets a clear explanation, and works through the homework step-by-step.
  • Built a quick knowledge check that surfaces prerequisite gaps early and reduces overwhelm during the walkthrough.
  • Added follow-up pathways so parents can practice again, understand why a method is used, spot common mistakes, and see how a concept connects to future topics.
  • Published plain-language parent guides and short explainer videos that unpack the teaching methods used in class, so parents understand the why and not just the how.
  • Launched free and paid plans with account creation and saved chat history, creating a foundation for ongoing use.
  • Established a repeatable workflow for adding topics, expanding the video library, and improving response quality over time.

The result

  • Shipped a functioning product that turns real homework moments into structured, method-aligned guidance parents can use immediately.
  • Built a foundation for iteration through instrumentation, feedback, and admin visibility into usage patterns and conversion.

Takeaway

Methodwise reflects how I build: start with the real workflow people are struggling through, simplify the path to a useful outcome, and use data to guide what to improve next.
